There’s been a lot of talk about all these new midsize truck models recently, but all that talk has been unfairly overlooking the Toyota Tacoma, the truck that stuck with the midsize segment through thick and thin. Now, the brand is bringing a new Toyota Tacoma to the Detroit Auto Show, a new generation of the truck for a new kind of truck customer.
The new Toyota Tacoma marks the first time that the truck has been redesigned in a full decade. This new truck is a way to capitalize on all that attention that’s currently being put on the midsize truck segment. “Tacoma is more important than the sum of its sales,” Robert Carter, senior vice president of automotive operations, said. “It has very dominant imagery: rugged, tough, youthful. That’s what that truck represents.”
The new design, a more aggressive and bold take on the Tacoma, does all that and more. And what it especially does is make us excited to see it in action. We can’t wait till this thing goes on sale. Check back at Lancaster Toyota after the Detroit Auto Show, when we’ll have more details on this great new truck.
