Toyota February Sales Enjoy Increase; RAV4 Sets Record

After a strong month of January, reporting a 15.6 percent increase, Toyota February sales increased again, setting a new record in the process. In total, 180,467 units were sold, accounting for a 13.3 percent increase over February of last year.

The Toyota RAV4 had a tremendous month of February as it saw a 33 percent increase, setting a February record. In addition, 4Runner sales were up 37.7 percent and Tacoma sales up 13 percent. The highest of all sales increases belonged to the Toyota Sienna, posting a 48.5 percent increase compared to the year prior.

Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager, said, “The auto industry is off to its best start since 2002 as truck demands continue to rise. Toyota light trucks and SUVs, led by RAV4, set a new February record.”
